The purpose of the foundation is charitable in nature, primarily providing supportive services to the clients of the Kern Regional Center and other community nonprofit organizations serving the developmentally disabled. Most members of the volunteer foundation Board of Directors have served ten years or more. They provide insight and leadership to the foundation and make funding and strategy decisions collectively. The 6-person Board of Directors decide the foundation’s funding priorities and checkpoints for how the funds are spent.
